The Municipal Government of Belo Horizonte (PBH) is the entity responsible for the management and administration of one of the largest cities in the country, with over 2,500,000 inhabitants. As the largest city in the state, it plays a fundamental role in promoting urban development, providing public services, and ensuring the well-being of the population. To fulfill this mission, the City Hall has been working to enhance its geospatial technology platforms, aiming at sharing among various municipal information systems for better utilization of geographic databases and information systems.

CHALLENGE

A significant portion of the activities carried out by the Municipal Government are related to georeferenced locations within the municipal territory. This includes mapping of streets, blocks, neighborhoods, bus routes, public facilities, urban parameters for property tax (IPTU), property addresses, among other references. These geospatial information are strategic, and therefore, one of PBH's main objectives is to enhance cadastral management, bringing benefits to urban planning and providing resources for citizens to access and visualize data.

HOW WE HELPED

In this context, SQUADRA and the Municipal Government have been working together on the development and modernization of the GEOSITE SISCTM system, a comprehensive Multifunctional Territorial Registry platform, aimed at promoting intelligent municipal management through precise geographic data, used transparently and integrated with various sectors of municipal administration.

With GEOSITE SISCTM, it is possible to manage municipality information through a tool that allows visualization of cadastral data integrated with their respective geographical information. Its functionalities enable cadastral updates, use of satellite images for information investigation, generation of reports, and performing analyses that provide vital information for revenue enhancement and the creation of a unified management system.

RESULT

With GEOSITE SISCTM, the municipality can manage large volumes of data and ensure the update and maintenance of the territorial registry. Furthermore, it enables involvement of different organs and entities within the municipality, each with their own needs for data access and use.

Its utilization also directly contributes to the municipality's ability to apply fair municipal tax charges, bring more visibility to data, and conduct management based on planning and reliable data.
